Fine Art
of R.A. Corey
After a lengthy separation from my art work I have returned. This return has been extremely challenging, yet exhilarating and rewarding. My art is a passion that affords a satisfaction I cannot find elsewhere. I enjoy working with various subject matter but enjoy the human form most. I am constantly experimenting with various techniques and mediums that will reflect my visual intentions. My art has not taken a specific direction yet but I am looking forward to a productive future.
To date, I have entered and been accepted in various juried shows including: The 2007, Artists of the UP, at Marquette's Devos Museum, The 2006, Northern Exposure XIII, at the William Bonifas Arts Center in Escanaba, (At this exhibit I was awarded special recognition and an article featuring my work appears in the May/June 2007, UP Magazine.), The Our Town, 2006, sponsored by Daimler Chrysler held in Birmingham/Bloomfield Hills, The 2007, 27th Annual Juried Fine Arts Exhibition, at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, The Greater Michigan Art Exhibition, at the Alden B. Dow Museum in Midland, and the 2008, "Blues" (Third Place Award) at Alberta House in Sault Ste. Marie.
I am represented by the Ed Gray Gallery in Calumet, the Upper Peninsula Artist's Market and the Alberta House in Sault Ste. Marie. I am a member of the Sault Area Arts Council and Crooked Tree Arts Center.
I have a B.F.A. from Wayne State University with a concentration in painting and drawing. I have a B.A. and M.A. in Education from Central Michigan University. I worked in photography and pottery for my Masters. I am currently employed as an adjunct faculty member for Lake Superior State University.
I hope you enjoy my gallery. If you have any suggestions or questions do not hesitate contacting me.
